On Academic Earth, Guy Kawasaki predicts the properties of Silicon Valley 4.0. Among the 10 that he lists, one of them is the ‘quantum leap in ubiquity’. He describes how your toilet will be on the network, will analyze the bowl, and send email to your doctor. Fast forward to about 1:50 in the video below:

On the plane ride back today, I was watching a recent TED talk by Benjamin Wallace titled “Does happiness have a price tag?” Sure enough, the Japanese have thought of the emailing toilet. See 8:25 on in the below video.
